Rules of Email Marketing - Part 2

You are aware of the first five thumb rules of your Email Marketing. The last five are crucial too as they help in ensuring that your mails are delivered to the inbox and not filtered off mid way.
The last five rules are

  1. To ensure that your mails are delivered, you may start your mail with message that says that ‘to ensure that you do not miss out on any of our mails, you may add our info@companyname.com to your address book.
  2. Avoid sending mails from names like info, subscribers, news, administrator etc. Try using names of people working with you and keep it consistent. A reader decides to open your mail or not in a fraction of a second. Unless your name is familiar to them, they will not open the mail.
  3. Some can receive only text messages and some HTML messages. Ensure that your messages are both in HTML as well as in text format.
  4. To ensure that your mails are not filtered by the spam filters, make sure that you do not use all caps and exclamation marks in your subject line.
  5. Build your list at every opportunity you have. Use sign up forms, call to action buttons and everything possible to ensure your customers come back to you.

Be the first with Market Research

Market research is not just looking around at the market and planning your next move. Many businesses are under the impression that, if they look at what their competitors are doing, then they would get a fair idea of the market. But unfortunately, it’s not that simple. You have to spend some time and put in some efforts to understand what is happening in the market and planning ahead of it.

  • Who is your target audience?
  • What is their requirement?
  • When do they need it?
  • Which is the best place to sell it?
  • How do you take your product to your target audience?
  • What is the reason behind this need?
  • What is your competitor’s next step?
  • What are the changing market trends?
The biggest mistake committed by most of the companies is that, they track their competitors. When the competitor launches ‘Product A’, you launch product A1 which will act as competition to Product A. Doing this, all that you do is follow your competitors. Its called as launching a Duplicate.

Why not be the first one at every step? Market Research does not promote you in mocking your competitor but will help in keeping you updated about your competitor’s next move. Tracking this, you can plan your next step in advance, and be ahead of your competitors.

When a Market Research professional does this job, he gets involved in collecting, recording and making sense of all the available information which will help a business unit to understand its market. The research will help in answering questions such as –

Make your followers your fans

Social media marketing is not an easy task. At the same time it’s not that difficult too. Whenever OnlineLeads has come across the social media marketing requests from the small businesses, all that they want to know is how could they get more fans and followers.

But what they usually fail to understand that they already have a large following. How do you turn those fans into customers is all you need to know?

That's the challenge social media and public relations consultants are taking care of. Online leads has a team of professionals for whom this is just as simple as their daily chore.

Social media marketing is the online way of word of mouth advertising. A prevailing presence of company on various social media sites not only helps connect with customers but builds better relationships, drives repeat business, attracts new customers and increases conversion rates.

Are you getting personal with your clients?

Don't you feel good when somebody talks to you by addressing your name. Similarly, just imagine all your conversations with your customers are addressed with their name. How good they would feel.

We have found that our best results in e-mail marketing are closely coupled to how well we customize the content. Based on the context, we use e-mail in a variety of ways. Primarily, we’re trying to help our users take the next step in their next purchase. For example, if buyers searched for and looked at an item but did not purchase it, the goal is to help them find a similar product and complete the transaction at very attractive price. If they lost something, we want to help them find another item like the one they lost at a great price.

There is, of course, a balance to be struck. Not every interaction can be entirely personalized; we would quickly be repeating the same message if we relied only on personalization. As a result, we mix personalized messages with popularity-based messages. Even here, though, we try to be targeted, letting buyers’ activity help us understand the best categories in which to recommend merchandise.
